Construction
Hull and decks and superstructure manufactured of 5mm welded steel which has then been primed and painted, the decks have been painted with a coarse non slip coating. The fly bridge is of a GRP Construction. The areas between the finishing panels and the outer hull has been lined and insulated. The fly bridge is also fitted with a folding radar arch which can be lowered if used on the inland waterways.

Machinery
Power is provided by twin Volvo Penta ADAD41B Turbo assisted 6 cylinder inline inboard diesel engines rated @ 200hp each with Volvo DP290 Duo Prop out drive legs. Operation of the engines is via a dual lever Micro hammer wireless lever control system to both the lower and fly bridge positions. The craft is fitted with the usual engine monitoring instrumentation. The vessel is also fitted with Power steering and trims tabs.

Electrics
Electrical systems on this craft are both 12vlt DC and 240 volt AC.
The 12 volt system comprises of 5 x 110 amp/hr batteries comprising of the following: 1 x 10amp/hr Battery to each engine start and 3 x Domestic batteries. All batteries are charged by the engine alternator. Distribution of the 12 volt power is via a master panel with 32 mini breakers, with a further18 gang switch panel at the lower helm position. The 240volt system enters the craft through an RCD Breaker before being distributed through a 5 gang switch panel feeding the Cooker, Water heater Bat Charger and Sockets. The battery charger is an intelligent type which switches between batteries and is connected to the domestic system only.

  • Accommodation
    Capricorn offers very spacious accommodation which offers 6 berths in three cabins including the saloon.
    The forward cabin offer two single berths in bunk formation on the port side with stowage under the lower bunk, together with a hanging locker and additional stowage around the cabin walls. Coming aft you have the galley on the starboard side and immediately opposite to port is a large dinette area with a ‘U’ shaped settee the dining table can be lowered to provide a double berth if required...
    The galley is fitted with sink and drainer with h/c pressurized water supply, a microwave and three burner gas hob above grill and oven.
    The large saloon amidships also incorporates the lower helm position to starboard this area offers ‘G’ shaped settee to Port with table, and a straight settee to starboard. Under the seating area are copious amounts of stowage space. The saloon is fitted with a bulkhead mounted flat screen T.V with digital box also an AM/FM Radio Cassette player. To the stern is the Master Double cabin with en-suite facilities connected to a holding tank. Both Heads are electric. The main heads compartment offers an electric sea toilet, although the basin and shower discharge into the aft holding tank.
    ‘Capricorn’ benefits from a diesel powered warm air heating system. The Saloon and cabin soles are fitted Beech veneer flooring, Upholstery is a tasteful eau-de nil colour with cream diamond pattern throughout and Teak joinery. This combination of colours and textures give the open plan saloon and dinette a great sense of space together with the large screens allowing light to stream in. The aft deck gives space for a 6 setting table with chairs and the fly bridge has seating for 4-6 persons.
