The craft is tiller steered with a full depth keel hung rudder attached by three bearings to the encapsulated long keel. Internally the construction is stiffened by bonded in bulkheads, dividers, and frames. Displacement weight: 6.1 Tons (6,211Kg) Ballast: 3 Ton (3,100 Kg) Ballast Ratio 1.20 – 1 Manufacturers Figures Machinery Propulsion is provided from a direct injection Kubota 3 cylinder naturally aspirated raw water cooled inboard diesel engine rated @ 20hp driving a standard 25mm shaft and three bladed propeller. A stainless steel fuel tank is located in the Port cockpit locker .. Electrics This craft carries a basic 12 volt DC system comprising of 3 x12 volt batteries with selection switch below installation and distributed through 2 x 4 gang fused switch panels by navigation area All batteries are charged from engine alternator whilst running and a wind generator. Mast Spars & Rigging Rigged as a Masthead Bermudan sloop the craft comprises of a Keel mounted Gold anodized aluminium mast and boom, with roller furling system to the headsail. All standing rigging is 1/19 stainless steel in 6 & 10 mm with multi plait running rigging. There are 2 x Barlow 25 self tailing sheet winches and 2 x mast mounted Halyard winches. All standing rigging was replaced in 2007. In addition there are two mast mounted spinnaker poles in gold anodised aluminium. The boom is fitted with a Lazy Jack System and boom bag for easy sail stowage. Sails
Accommodation Accommodation comprises of 5 berths, with a twin cabin for’ard and a further three single berths in the saloon area. Between the forward cabin and saloon is the heads compartment with sea toilet and basin with cold manual pumped water supply. Within the saloon area there is a Drop leaf table slightly off set to port whilst to starboard is a ½ sized chart table. Opposite to Port is the galley with a two burner gas cooker with oven and grill, stainless steel basin with manually pumped cold water and a cool box. Headroom is good at 6’00”. The water tank is integrated into the build of this craft and is located under the saloon sole and above the keel. Comments The Nicholson mark is a well respected build throughout the yachting fraternity, and is re-known for there forgiving sea kindly nature and long distance capabilities. The heavy displacement hull with a ballast ratio of 50% makes the 32 a safe all weather craft .
