Construction
Hull deck and superstructure manufactured from hand laid Fibre reinforced plastic with a white gel coat finish. Built in 1976 the underwater profile is that of Princesses innovative ‘Y’ hull introduced in 1974 providing a deep ‘V’ with a Longitudinal keel which improves slow speed handling.
Wintered ashore undercover between Brussels and Antwerp until April 2008

Machinery
Powered by twin Ford Mermaid 180HP Turbo assisted diesel engines (re-built in 2004 and have since clocked 250hours) driving conventional shafts via a pair of handed PRM 75CB gearboxes with a 1.5: ratio. The Gearbox’s were renewed in 2006 and have had only 70hrs running time. Engine control is via twin single lever Morse control systems to the lower helm and fly bridge. Main engine instrumentation is located at the lower helm position.
This craft is also fitted with an Eberspacher D5 hot air diesel heating system (re built in 2006.)

Electrical Systems
The ships electrical system is fitted with both 12 & 240 volt systems.
The 12 volt system comprises of 4 x 12 volt batteries in 2 banks with 1 bank dedicated to engine starting with the second bank used for domestic use, both banks can be switched to offer an engine boost start facility if needed.
All batteries are charged from the engine alternators whilst running.

The 240 volt shore side system incorporates a built in Electronically controlled battery charger which monitors the battery state of each bank and automatically charges the bank with the lowest voltage first. 240 volt plug sockets are located at various strategic areas of the craft.

Accommodation
Accommodation offers 6 berths in three cabins including the saloon.
The forward cabin offers 2 single berths in an offset bunk formation with drawers under.
Two heads, each with H & C water supply shower, basin and sea toilet are located between the forward cabin and Portside Double cabin with draw storage /vanity unit. The galley opposite the Double cabin is equipped with a four s burner gas stove, and electric Convector oven with micro wave and grill. Double sink with H & C water supply and refrigerator.

The spacious saloon offers an ‘L’ shaped settee with seating for 6 persons whilst to starboard is the single helms mans seat with additional cupboard spaces running aft of this point.

Hot water is provide through a calorifier attached to the engine cooling system providing
Hot water whilst running ,the tank is also fitted with a 240 element for supply whilst in port.

Comments
The Princess 37 is robust off shore cruiser. It proved a very popular model with 333 boats sold through its production run.

Nympea is a fine and well maintained example of this class with much spent over the past 4 years to keep the craft up to scratch be cosmetically and mechanically.
