Construction
Hull deck and superstructure moulded in hand laid GRP with gelcoat finish, the gel coat has been professionally spayed in a deep Royal Blue up to the solid teak gunnal capping. Decks and superstructure are the original white gelcoat . The underwater profile consists of a near full length keel with a captive rudder. Below the water line has been epoxy treated with the application carried out by a boat builder in 2000. Typical of this type of craft is the spacious enclosed wheelhouse and open aft cockpit area. Although classed as a Motor Sailer the hull shape leans more towards that of a fully fledged sailing vessel thus offering a better performance under sail in lighter airs.

Machinery:
Auxiliary power is provided by a Mercedes OM636 naturally aspirated inboard diesel engine rated at approx 42hp. This engine has indirect cooling via a heat exchanger, although not fitted with a calorifier for domestic hot water this installation can be carried out relatively easily. Maximum speed with this engine is approx 7 knts using approx Ύ gph of fuel. Engine operation is via a single lever control in the wheel house and a secondary lever control in the cockpit aft. We understand that fuel capacity is approx 40
gallons.

Electrics:
The craft is fitted with a 12volt D.C system charged from the engine alternator comprising of 2 x 12 volt Batteries distributed through a 4 position change over switch allowing connection of independent batteries 1 or 2 or connecting both together, Domestic electrical operation is via multi switch panel.

    Mast Spars & Rigging
    Rigged as a Bermudan Ketch the Main and Mizzen Masts and booms are of Anodised Aluminium. All standing rigging is of 1x19 preformed stainless steel. The craft also benefits from a Plastimo Roller Reefing system to the Headsail.

    Running Rigging is a of Rope and Rope /Wire for the haliards.

    Accommodation:
    Offering four berths either as two double berths or one double and a twin berth.

    The forward cabin offers either a twin berth or double berth by aid of an infill section. Between the forward cabin and saloon is a heads compartment to port and a hanging locker to starboard a pair of louvered doors separate this area from the cabin and saloon. The heads compartment is fitted with a sea toilet and basin. In the saloon a a ‘U’ shaped dinette come double berth is located to Port with stowage behind and under the seating area whilst to Starboard is the galley with 2 burner gas cooker with oven and grill, stainless steel sink with pressurised hot water and stowage.

    Hot water throughout the craft is provided by a Palomo Gas water heater. A 12/220vlt/gas refrigerator is located in the wheel house. Within the wheelhouse is further seating for four persons + the helmsman who has a pedestal type seat. Access to the engine is from the wheelhouse deck Sole.

    A sets of double doors leads into the aft cockpit again with seating for four . A second helm position is located here with wheel steering and engine control.Headroom through the craft is 6’+.

    Comments:
    A spacious and practical craft with good sea keeping capability, ‘Moylena’ has been well maintained by her current owners over the their 20 yrs of ownership.
