Construction:

Hull deck and superstructure built of a GRP sandwich construction with gelcoat finish now painted in Royal Blue with yellow non slip decks. In 1998 Hughe Welbourn Yacht Design was commissioned to re design the keel and this was built and fitted in the same year, at this time the rudder was also re-designed. Steering is via a balanced hung rudder with tiller.

Engine / Machinery:

Auxiliary power is provided by a Yanmar GM30F naturally aspirated inboard Diesel engine rated @ 29hp and driving a conventional shaft with 2 bladed folding propeller

Electrics:

This craft is fitted with a 12 volt DC system comprising of 3 x 110amphr batteries distributed through a Guest 4 position master switch to a fused distribution panel.
All batteries are charged from the engine alternator.

Accommodation:

This craft is a pure bred racing yacht so accommodation is functional rather than homely.
Offering 10 berths in one open cabin area extending under the cockpit qtrs both Port and Starboard. The bunks are nicely covered, clean, and benefit from deep foam infills.
A toilet compartment is located for’ard to starboard whilst the Foc’sle forms the Sail locker
To port aft of the Forward bulkhead is the Galley with a new Plastimo Neptune 2500 gas hob with oven &Grill,
And cold water fed basin , whilst to starboard is a deep cool chest.
Fresh water capacity 50ltrs in a new flexible tank (2006).
The engine box under the companion way steps also doubles as the Chart table / Navigation area.
The internal volume of this craft is amazing with light easy clean flow coat finished surfaces making it simple to maintain.

Comments

‘Chikara’ is a serious racing machine which has been well maintained. Now back at Dover Marina aft successfully completing the Round Britain & Ireland Race with an Impressive 4th in class. In preparation for this event the craft was fully race prepared with full engine service,
and all other items serviced or replaced where required.
