Construction

Hull deck and superstructure molded in hand laid GRP with a white Gelcoat finish, with grey painted non slip decks.
The interior was fitted out by the previous first owner in Belgium. Below the water line the Hull was epoxied before first launch/commissioning in we believe 1997.
Displacement; 5,465 lbs
Ballast : 2,240 lbs


Engine

Single cylinder Yanmar 1 GM10 naturally aspirated raw water cooled inboard diesel engine rated at 9 hp, 25mm shaft
and folding propeller with approx 30hrs from new in 2005.
Fuel Capacity: 20 ltr


Electrics

2 x 105 amphr 12volt batteries charged from engine alternator with 2 x Flag Key master switches.
240 volt shore power system with shore line and 15amp Battery Charger.
Distribution via a 12 gang switch panel with battery condition indicator and a second 4 gang panel

Deck stepped silver anodized aluminium double spreader mast and boom, with stainless steel standing rigging. Roller Furling Headsails. Boom is fitted with Lazy Jacks , and the main sail is slab reefed.

Accommodation

This craft offers 4 berths in an open plan configuration offering a forward double ‘V’ berth and two single settee berths in the saloon area. A heads compartment is located amidships on the Port side and is fitted with a Sea toilet.
The galley comprises of a Gimballed 2 burner cooker with oven and grill, S/s basin with pumped cold water system.
Upholstery is in blue hardwearing waterproof material and all joinery is in Light wood and white laminated ply.


Comments

Fitted out by the original owner this vessel has been basically fitted out for sailing performance and not comfort.
To this end the interior would really benefit from a re-think and refit. Although the hull deck and superstructure appear sound. If you are interested in a boat for Club Racing and comfort is not necessary then this could be up your street. Either way this craft is well equipped and can be sailed now.

Designed as a cruiser racer the UFO 27 as a sailing boat is good reliable passage maker with a good turn of speed, and many sail this type of craft around the cans, In total 133 were built with the models being fitted out by professional builders and amateurs a like.
